The real taste of Garda

We can rightfully say that Lugana is one of the great Italian white wines, capable of satisfying all tastes with its different versions, still, sparkling and even Vendemmia Tardiva: Lugana can be cheerful, light, sparkling but also structured and deep to be kept in a cellar and enjoyed after a few years, to grasp the nuances of an evolution that only wines of great character can offer.

“A wine not afraid of the challenge of time”

The Lugana wine was born in the southern area of Lake Garda, between Lombardy and Veneto regions, between the cities of Desenzano and Peschiera, in an area where you can feel all the benefits of this large bed of water on a fertile and mineral rich land, which gives grapes with a strong identity and then wines with complex aromas.

Most of all, the climate has a decisive influence: moderate, mild, constantly refreshed by a very pleasant breeze, which caresses the rows of vines and removes humidity.

The production of the area is mainly dedicated to a white grape variety with extraordinary characteristics: Turbiana (once called Trebbiano di Lugana) often associated in the past with other varieties, initially with Trebbiano di Soave and then, with another great Italian grape: the Verdicchio from Marche region, even if the Turbiana is clearly distinguished from both.

For years, as a producer of GARDA EXCELLENCES, the name of Malavasi wines has also stood out ABOVE ALL for its Luganas, especially for what we can almost define as ONE OF ITS PEARLS: The Camilla.

The CAMILLA

100% Lugana Trebbiano, produced from grapes from the first strip of clayey limestone area of Lake Garda of the mythical city of Sirmione. Perfect as an accompaniment to all fish dishes, soups, pasta and rice first courses and white meats.

The winery owner Daniele Malavasi gave this Lugana wine the name of his daughter. An award-winning and internationally known wine.
